About Moc Docs

What Are We Looking For?

How To Apply?

If You Win?

Scripts for a 3-5 minute mockumentary.

We're looking for clever, funny, satirical material(preferably all three).  They can pushthe envelope… but they have to be funny!

We consider a mockumentary tobe fictionalin subject matter but delivered in the style and film grammar of a real documentary.

Mockumentaries can also be parodies of the documentary form itself.

E.g. "The Civil War Documentary Documentary" moc doc poked fun at the lengthy, repetitious and stock laden nature of Ken Burns’ monumental documentary series. Another great moc doc, "The Font Doctor", mocked the “Inside Hollywood”type of documentary while the hilariouis "Clowns at War" bore morethan a passing resemblance to the NFB/CBC "Canada at War" epics. That being said, go easy on the faux-BBC announcer, eh, we had 42last year.

Finalists will be selected onthe strength of the completed script or detailed script outline, originality of concept and creative treatment. Winners will needall of the above, a creative team, and the ability to go to cameraswiftly.

Maximum length of the completedfilm is five minutes.
